To be a stroke & turn official for a CSA regular season swim meet, you must attend one brief clinic to help insure we provide a good, consistent experience for our swimmers. A list of each club’s officials will be posted on the officials section of the website. To be a starter or referee, you must attend both a starter/referee session as well as a stroke & turn session. If you are a USA Swimming certified stroke and turn official, you only need to attend the starter/ref class to be a referee.
Starter/Referee Clinics – May 2,3, or 11
Stroke & Turn Clinics – May 4,5, or 12
All classes will be held at Sherwood at 7pm.
This year will be the 43rd annual Swim to raise money to fight cancer and support cancer research. Our “Swim For Cancer” is the longest running annual event to support the American Cancer Society. What makes it unique is that the money isn’t raised by a big corporate sponsorship or celebrity endorsement. It is the children of the Community Swim Association raising money one lap of the pool at a time. The 2016 kickoff luncheon will be Wednesday May 18th at the Golden Corral on Lawndale, 12pm.
*If you would like to go ahead and get your team’s envelopes, they are available at the ACS office on Oak Branch Drive.
The next CSA Board of Representatives meeting will be Sunday May 29th at 3pm at Sherwood Swim and Racquet Club. This meeting is for Team Reps as well as coaches. We will distribute supplies for the season as well as vote on new executive committee members. As a reminder, although each team is only allowed one vote, each team should have two (2) team representatives for consistency and to help disseminate information.
